It’s that time of the year again! The Teen Choice Awards have sent out their first wave of nominations and our favorite band is nominated!

The awards show will take place on July 22nd, which is Selena Gomez’s 20th birthday, on FOX! We can go to the website every day and vote for them! What a great present it would be for her and the guys to win!

Seems like the boys of The Scene are staying pretty active with or without frontwoman Selena Gomez!

Joey Clement tweeted that they were filming a music video for a song “Back to Life”, that they wrote together!

Selena Gomez is being sued for $1 Million.

The lawsuit is happening because of four songwriters (Tom Luce, Brian Kroll, Matt Blackett, and Lawrence Riggs) claiming that her 2010 hit “A Year Without Rain” is a ripoff of their song from 2005, “Buy a Dog”, and they believe that Selena’s song is virtually the same song as theirs.

The Scene is also mentioned in the lawsuit. Selena & The Scene’s rep hasn’t responded to the lawsuit.

On April 20, 2012; the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) certified that Selena Gomez & The Scene’s “Love You Like A Love Song” was 2x Platinum!

The Nighttime Version of “Hit the Lights” !

Looks like the “break” that Selena was thinking of taking from music isn’t going to be as long as we thought!

Rock Mafia posted on Twitter that they will be in the studio with Selena as early as next week! For those of you who don’t know, Rock Mafia are the songwriting/producing team that has given us “Naturally” and “Love You Like A Love Song” among others!

Soooo excited to hear some new Selena & The Scene hits! Hopefully The Scene will be more involved with this album! We’re assuming that since Selena did say she won’t be releasing any new music “for a while”, that the new album she’s working on won’t be released until late 2012. 

Selena & The Scene perform “Hit the Lights” on Dancing With the Stars.

To promote their new single, “Hit the Lights”, Selena Gomez & The Scene will be performing on Dancing with the Stars tomorrow (as we previously reported).

They will also be doing a VEVO Go Show performance (similar to Demi Lovato’s). 

Lastly, they will have a new, “nighttime version” of the “Hit the Lights” music video which will premiere on April 20th!
